Water& Oil Repellent
Textile waterproofing solutions

Textile water repellent
Textile water repellent is a functional chemical additive used in textile finishing. It forms a uniform and stable hydrophobic protective film on the fabric surface through physical adsorption or chemical bonding with the fiber surface, significantly reducing the fiber’s surface energy. This property not only effectively blocks the intrusion of rainwater and liquids, but also prevents the adhesion of dust and stains. Some high-performance products are even resistant to the penetration of low-surface-energy liquids such as cooking oil and motor oil.

Textile water repellent is widely used in functional clothing (jackets, down jackets, raincoats, sportswear), home textiles (tents, sunshades, tablecloths, sofa fabrics), and technical fabrics (car seats, protective clothing, medical fabrics). It provides long-lasting protection for fabrics, enhances product value, and meets consumers’ diverse needs for comfort, practicality, and durability.

Process Reference
There are four common methods for applying water and oil repellents, of which the first, dip-pad, is the most widely used.
Spraying and foaming are suitable for single-sided waterproofing.
Foam coating requires a foam finishing machine, which requires strict control over the foaming process.
Garment processing is suitable for garments that require ready-to-wash, such as workwear, jeans, and shirts.
