Introduction to Silicone Enhancers
Pesticide adjuvants are an indispensable component in the process of formulation processing and application. They can not only improve the physical stability of the formulation, facilitate the penetration and diffusion of the active ingredients on the target, but also help to enhance and prolong the efficacy.
As important components of the formulation, wetting and dispersing agents, emulsifiers, synergists and green solvents directly determine the storage stability and use effect of pesticide formulation products. They are of great significance to the processing of pesticide formulations.
Silicone synergist structure
Silicone enhancer Sylic S7800
Sylic S7800, a silicone additive for agriculture, is a polyether-modified trisiloxane, a silicone surfactant with good spreading and permeability. In the process of spraying pesticides, it has the characteristics of improving efficiency, saving manpower, saving water and saving pesticides. It can make the sprayed agricultural chemicals play a better role, spread more easily, absorb faster, not easily washed away, and has the characteristics of “rain-proof”. When spraying pesticides, the concentration is 0.1% – 0.05%, which can save more than 50% of pesticides. It reduces the amount of pesticides lost to the soil and groundwater, reduces the pesticide residues in the environment, and is in line with the development direction of green agriculture.
Wetting and spreading
Sylic S7800 has a very strong spreading performance. First, we compared the spreading effect of the solution without synergist, with Tween-20 and with Sylic S7800 on the leaf surface. The results showed that the spreading diameter of the solution with Sylic S7800 was 7 times that of the solution without synergist. The solution can be distributed more evenly on the leaf surface, which directly improves the effective utilization rate of pesticides and reduces the loss of solution.
